Five Places you Should Visit in New York
Since I’ve been with Dom I’ve tried countless times to get us to visit New York. I’ve been plenty of times because I’m from Mount Vernon, New York but I wanted us to experience the city together at least once. I’m proud to say that after 11 years we finally made it to the big Apple, TOGETHER with friends. Oh and we got to see a lot in just a little over a day and I’m here to tell you what you should definitely see while you’re visiting the city!
DUMBO
I received so many questions about DUMBO after we took this iconic picture above and posted it to my Instagram. Okay so first things first DUMBO is a neighborhood in Brooklyn that stands for “Down under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass”, which is a lot to say so I see why no one mentions the full name. Also, I’m not going to lie my knowledge of DUMBO comes from the Jay-Z verse:
I coulda bought a place in Dumbo before it was Dumbo
For like two million
That same building today is worth twenty-five million
Guess how I’m feelin’? Dumbo
Okay so yeah just had to drop some Hip Hop knowledge on ya! Now the reason why this place has become such a instagrammable photo spot is because if you stand on the corner of Washington and Water streets in DUMBO then you are about to get a bomb picture of you and the Manhattan Bridge right behind you. See it? It’s perfect!

Coney Island
I’ve always wanted to visit Coney Island because I love the beach and this is an iconic one! Visiting Coney Island was one of my favorite things we did during our trip to New York. Be prepared to see a lot of people on the boardwalk and the beach. Parking was also a hassle, but we eventually paid $20 to park at the lot at the baseball field beside the park.
There are great food options such as Nathan’s! I have such fond memories of this place and I was excited that we made a stop to grab a bite to eat. Even Barks loved Coney Island!

Visit Central Park
If you follow me on Instagram then you saw that we took our little Barks to New York with us and our first stop with him was to Central Park. He loved walking through the park and he was really happy that he was getting some fresh air and not cooped up in the car — he gets really car sick. He also met lots of friends, check my highlights to see him meeting one of them.
Things to Keep in Mind when Visiting the Park:
It’s a big park so you’re going to do a lot of walking if you want to see all of it.
If you’re a dog lover then you will get to see lots of doggies running around, and they are all for the most part off their leashes. I loved seeing all the pups!
Visit Junior’s
I don’t know about you, but I love cheesecake and Junior’s cheesecake has always been at the top of my list! Any time I get a slice of Junior’s I immediately think of the epic time in reality tv show history when Diddy made the “Making the Band” group walk to Junior’s. I mean it is that good! My favorite is the strawberry cheesecake!
Visit Times Square
As a kid I remember trips to the city with my aunt. We would walk through Times Square and I remember being so fascinated by all of the lights and crowds of people. Nothing has changed about Times Square, it’s still very busy with lots of people and lights everywhere, and it’s still a must-see when visiting New York.
