A Girl's Weekend - Destiny Parks

How many of you live away from family? Well, I’m one of those people and some times it really sucks. So when my family is able to come and visit I’m always excited! This was one of those moments!

Friday

My mom’s 51st birthday was on Friday, and she and my little sister Cheyanne decided to come up to visit me for the weekend — a girl’s weekend! My mom just started her natural hair journey so my gift to her was sending her to the hair salon to have it professionally done for the first time since she began her journey. She decided to go with curls! She loved this gift and was happy with the outcome!

Afterwards, we went to Bahama Breeze in Woodbridge, VA for dinner, a restaurant my mom has been wanting to try for a while! We ordered two appetizers, Firecracker Shrimp and the calamari (they have a great happy hour!). Our entrees were the Jerk Chicken Pasta. Everything was delicious!

Before the night was over we went to the movie theater to see the movie The Hate You Give. We all loved it! If you haven’t seen it yet, please go because it’s a must-see!

Saturday

You can’t have a girl’s weekend without brunch, right? Thats why I made it a point to go to Ozzie’s for brunch! Although I went for the brunch menu my mom talked me into getting a salad — she’s into eating healthy and fitness. But we did order some good appetizers like the spinach artichoke dip and calamari (did you notice that we have a thing for calamari? Lol). Oh, also my mom had a drink called the “Irish Wake Me Up Call.” She’s not a drinker, her reaction to it is on my Instagram (@DJSSTYLE) highlight “My Adventures.”

We headed to the mall after Brunch, and shopped until we dropped! After the mall our next stop was the Mosaic District, we spent most of the day there laughing, smiling, window shopping, and taking these amazing pictures. Good times! For dinner my husband, Dom, treated us girls to a hibachi meal. We had some great laughs here too, this is on my “My Adventures” Instagram highlight as well!

Unfortunately, Sunday is when we had to say our goodbyes! I miss them already, but at least we were able to make memories together once again! Can’t wait until the next time! Make sure to follow me on my Instagram because I’ll have a travel adventure coming up really soon!
