Burnside Farms – Festival of Spring Visit

Heyyyy! It’s been so long since I posted on my blog, but I’m making an effort to change that. I’m returning to my roots, where my journey of being a content creator all began. So I’ll be back to sharing my style, local adventures, home decor and traveling on here. And what a better way to get back to blogging then sharing my recent visit to see the tulips at Burnside Farms!

Burnside Farms is located in Nokesville, Virginia. Every year the farm does a Festival of Spring in which they plant beautiful rows of tulips and then invite the public to see them. Not only do you get the experience of walking through the rows and getting some amazing photos, but the farm even allows you to pick your own tulips. Picking my own tulips was a first for me and I enjoyed the experience so much!

Unfortunately, the Festival of Spring has ended but I wanted to share my experience for those that want to visit next year. Here’s important tips if you plan on visiting in the future:

  • You get five free tulips for each ticket purchase (this is something I missed reading about and wished I didn’t!).
  • Any stems you pick after that are $1.00 each.
  • You have the option to keep the bulb of the tulip if you plan to pot the flower, which is $1.00 extra.
  • Look out for props to include in your insta-worthy photos like the bike with a basket of flowers shown below.
  • The farm normally posts when tickets go on sale on their Instagram page. Once tickets are released, move fast because the tickets can sell out pretty quickly.
  • If you want to visit when it’s less crowded, we found that at 1 pm is when the crowd died down tremendously.

Also, if you can’t wait until next year to visit the farm, they are currently planting sunflowers for the summer. The public will be able to view the sunflowers starting mid-July and it runs through Labor Day. I plan to see these too and I’m so excited!

Live on the west coast and not sure when you can visit the east coast? You can check out the Flower Fields in Carlsbad, California instead that runs from March and ends in early May. This year, The Flower Fields will end on 5/8 so there’s still time and it’s a perfect gift for Mother’s Day. You can read about my visit/tips on what to wear at the Flower Fields here.

Last but not least, if you missed my reel of my visit to see the tulips at Burnside Farms, you can watch it below to get a visual and plan your trip for next year or in July to see the sunflowers.
