Beach Trip Must-Haves
If you follow me on Instagram then you know that I recently took a beach trip with my siblings! We had such a great time and it reminded me how much I love the beach. It’s something about just laying out on the beach, soaking up the sun and listening to the water that just brings me so many good vibes! If you are planning a beach trip soon, here’s a list of some must-haves!

What you Should Bring
A Tent
I’ve been to the beach many times, but never thought about bringing a tent until now. I tell you this was the best decision we could have made for our beach trip! I was worried that we might have some difficulty putting this up, but just like the reviews said the set up process was fairly easy. We also had the best tent out there! I loved the color of this one and all the mesh window details it had. It was so relaxing to sit in there and have a little bit of privacy and shading from the sun.
A Fan
I loved that this fan came in multiple colors, including pink! Also, for it to be a mini fan it was still pretty powerful. I wrapped it on a hook that was on our tent and it hung from there.
A Cooler
You have to stay hydrated if you plan to spend some time at the beach so a cooler is definitely a must-have! There are so many cute options out there too.
A Beach Towel
I didn’t get in the water much because I prefer to lounge on the beach more so. I did bring a beach towel along with me though and used it as a pillow whenever I was laying down, haha. If you buy a tent like the one I have, a beach towel isn’t really needed to lay down in the tent because the tent has a lining at the bottom!
Sunscreen
I always love when I can find a black-owned product! Recently I was seeing posts about this Black Girl Sunscreen and I wanted to try it. So happy I did because it’s good stuff! It soaks right into your skin and doesn’t leave any of that white residue that some other sunscreens do.
Bluetooth Speaker
Listening to music while on the beach was a great touch! We were vibing for a while on the beach to the music that played from my sister’s Bluetooth speaker and it made the beach experience that more fun. Just remember to keep the volume down so that others can enjoy their beach day as well!
What you Should Style
A Swimsuit
Shop my Beach Style
This is a duh must-have, but I wanted to recommend going bold and having fun with your swimsuit selections. Either go bold with the color like I did with the neon fuchsia colored bathing suit or go neutral with cute details like this all black option with ruffle sleeves. A Cover Up
Cover ups are my favorite because I’m not one to walk around on the boardwalk in my bathing suit, plus they make your swimsuit instantly turn into an outfit! I find the midi skirt and pants options to be so fun! The crochet midi skirt and crinkle pants I wore were the perfect fit and they were so stylish.
A Hat and/or Sunglasses
I think this was the first time I brought a hat with me to the beach. I’m happy that I brought my boater hat along because not only was it stylish, but it helped shield the sun from my face. I will suggest to check the weather to make sure it’s not a windy day if you plan to wear a hat. I failed to do that one day and my hat almost flew away, *sigh* good times.
As far as sunglasses, this is a summer essential in general. But on the beach they are even more important. I’m really into round sunglasses at the moment! This style was all that I brought with me on this trip.
Comfortable Sandals
I’m all about comfort when I go to the beach! So it’s only right that I wear a comfy sandal. A couple of years ago I bought these rose gold sandals from Target and they are the best! The sandals come in other colors too and are super cute!
