Explored Alexandria, VA in A Two Piece Set
In 2019, I mentioned that I wanted to travel more and also explore more of where I live. I did just that! I lived life by going on travel destinations like San Diego, Bali, New York, and even L.A. To explore more of where I lived, I visited places like Dumbarton Oaks Garden, U.S. Botanic Garden, CityCenter and more. I made it a goal to do the same in 2020, but I think you know how that story goes. While I haven’t really done much domestic or any international traveling this year, still playing it safe, I have started exploring again around the city. A few weeks ago I visited Alexandria, VA and it gave me all of the charming/whimsical feels I needed!
I felt like this gingham set was a perfect fit to match up with all of the charm Alexandria was giving me! We walked a couple of blocks from our car until we found this beautiful brick wall and then discovered the dreamy alleyway.

In our moments of exploring the city we even found a tree with flowers that matched the color of my set. I instantly fell in love and had to stop to take a photo. In my moment of glory, a bumblebee flew right above me and dusted me with some pollen as I just finished my shots. Wondering if this is a sign for anything, haha.
We walked a couple of more blocks until we reached a park and then found the Wilkes Tunnel. By this time, you might be wondering if I was still walking with my chunky heel sandal. The answer is yes, they’re that comfortable! I didn’t take a break from them until we decided to walk through the tunnel. Which I might add was pretty cool and it was even cooler to learn the history at the end of it. I even created a reel to give a little background information of the tunnel. If you’re ever in town make sure to stop by the Wilkes Tunnel! It’s a perfect spot for a photo opportunity too!
