A Visit to the Dumbarton Oaks Garden
Do you remember in my post, 6 Places to Visit in the D.C. Area this Spring/Summer, when I said that I’m making a vow to explore more of D.C. and its surrounding areas? Well, I already started making that promise! Last weekend I had the chance to visit The Dumbarton Oaks garden in D.C. and one word to describe the place is BEAUTIFUL!
Some important things to know if you visit the Dumbarton Oaks Garden:
- It costs $10 per person to enter the garden. If you are a student it only costs $5.
- You will do a good amount of walking so wear comfortable shoes. I wore heels for my photos, but best believe I had a pair of sneakers to switch into once we were done.
- If you are more interested in seeing more blooms than greens, try to visit early spring. Dom and I realized that we missed a lot of the blooms, especially the gorgeous Wisterias. But we did find some and were able to capture a picture!
- There’s plenty of parking nearby! We expected to not find parking as quickly as we did, but finding a space was not a problem in the residential neighborhood where the garden is located.
What I loved most about visiting the garden was that it was so peaceful and it was just so dreamy and magical. I will definitely be returning again next year or maybe sooner!
By the way did you notice that my top is not really a “top?” It’s a romper! You can shop some similar ones below! Style Tip: a dress or a romper can easily be styled with a pair of jeans. You should try it, if you haven’t already!
