What to Wear to the Flower Fields in Carlsbad, CA

Happy Spring! If you follow me on Instagram and/or Facebook then you might have seen that I surprised my husband, Dom, with a trip to San Diego, CA last weekend for his 30th birthday. We had such an amazing time there taking in all the views the city had to offer, visiting places like: Balboa Park, La Jolla beach, Seaport Village, and the Flower Fields. The Flower Fields was absolutely one of my favorite places to visit because it was just breathtakingly beautiful. If you plan to take a visit there one day, here are three things I recommend you wear!

A Dress

While a cute jumpsuit or jeans with a top are also great options there is just something about styling a dress in a field of flowers. With my visit I styled a jean dress which turned out to be great, but I do wish that I had packed a flowey dress because that would have really been magical. Just imagine the flowers and your dress catching the wind, so magical. Remember to pack a pair of shorts to slip under that dress!

Comfortable Shoes

The weekend we visited some of the flowers had just bloomed. To see the ones that had bloomed we had to walk to the far end of the fields. When you first walk into the field it looks like it’s a far walk, but once you start it’s not that bad at all; however, comfortable shoes is a must. I chose to wear my yellow platform sandals from Target. I am such a fan of platform sandals, they are amazingly comfortable! If you decide to wear some shoes that are not as comfortable as you thought, the Flower Fields does offer a ride around on an antique tractor for only $5.

Sunglasses

I don’t think I would have lasted long without my shades! The sun shines bright out there so make sure to style a pair of sunnies. I chose my favorite gold framed sunglasses and added a Ban.do pom pom chain for a cute touch.
