Denim + A Sweater Beach Day

One thing that I regret about my summer is not being able to enjoy the beach since my visit to Venice Beach, CA was a fail due to rain. I’m happy to say my experience at Rehoboth Beach, DE this past weekend went a lot better. Now a visit to the beach in the fall is a lot different than a visit in the summer. My advice is to dress warm!

A summer beach visit basically only requires a swimsuit and some accessories. While summer visits require little to no clothing a fall visit requires more. That’s why a sweater and jacket were a must on Saturday. If I’m not going somewhere fancy I love dressing casually on a weekend. In fact, I was recently featured on the Chic Beat blog and was asked “what will you likely be wearing on the weekends?” My answer happened to include a cozy sweater and sneakers, my favorite look! My new denim sherpa jacket from Target fit just right over my fuzzy sweater. It was also fun to mix the two textures, plus they kept me very warm! (DJS & STYLE tip of the day: mixing textures can be a fun way to spruce up an outfit). Not only was I looking for coziness and warmth in the look but I certainly needed comfort to walk the boardwalk and cruise on a bike.  My vans were perfect to wear! Walking and riding on the boardwalk, playing arcade games, and taking a bite of a funnel cake summed up my day at the beach. I’m glad I was able to have a fun fall day at the beach in style!
