My Boyfriend Coat and I

I can’t stress enough how much I hate winter. Oddly enough I do love the sight of snow and the idea of allowing your coat to be the center point of your outfit! Yes, I love a coat in the winter that makes a big statement, and that’s what I saw in this one.

I recently visited Cotton On on one of my shopping trips. Whenever I’m in the store I always head straight to their sale rack to find a great buy! I found this fun black and white pattern coat for only $15! I normally go with the usual peacoat style coat so buying this boyfriend style is a different and new look for me that I like. I’m actually surprised that I ended up liking the coat since I more into form fitting clothing due to my small frame. I opted for a pair of my fitted high-waisted jeans because I thought it would be a great contrast to the boyfriend style of the coat, which works.

My DJS & Style tip of the day is to always make sure you have a crisp white blouse in your closet. It’s such a versatile piece of clothing and should be a HUGE staple in your closet. This blouse featured is a Forever 21 top that I thrifted from the Goodwill for only $3! I just decided to shop at the Goodwill one day and walked right into their Happy Hour that was going to end in literally 15 minutes. So I grabbed everything I could and hopped in line to get their Happy Hour sale and I’m glad I got my hands on the blouse!

I think my adorable Kate Spade purse was the perfect accessory for this look! I’ve had a Kate Spade phone case for the longest time and I’ve always admired the brand, especially their bags. I’ve had designer bags before but I have to say that this bag is living up to all my expectations with all of its charming details. I can’t wait to get my hands on another one!

Of course I had to style this look with a mixture of patterns, prints, and textures. I love the fabric of the coat and how it blends with my pointed toe heels! If you’re scared to venture out and mix prints or textures just choose two that are similar and it will more than likely work in your favor.

I love my coat but I’m so sick of the cold weather! 🙁 I know this is a winter post but I can’t wait for spring! What about you?
