A Velveteen Valentine

Valentine’s Day is almost here so you have to have an idea of what you’re going to wear! My plans are not major this year, just planning on having a simple dinner out somewhere with the boyfriend. This look is best for a dinner date or hanging out with friends.

Despite the texture differences this dress is my alternative to the Nasty Gal Glamorous Lisanna Dress featured in ‘My 2015 Valentine’s Day Dress Picks‘ post. I purchased this dress from Forever 21 last year for my visit to Las Vegas. Just like it was perfect for the Vegas night life it can be for Valentine’s Day. Whenever I want to tone down a dress or make it more appropriate for somewhere other than the club, I always pair it with a blazer. It works every time, now your once club dress has become suitable for dinner, work, etc. Throw on a pair of high heeled boots and you’ll be ready for your night out on February 14th. This is an easy look for those last minute plans!

P.S. the coat featured is an old coat that I purchased from Delia’s some years ago, I was so shocked to find out they’re closing :-(. If you have a Delia’s store near you, hurry to catch their going out of business sale!
